What you can do now

Besides engaging in discussion with those around you, spreading the word, and contributing to the forum, there are some key things you can do.

1. See if there is a local occupy group in your area and what help they may need. It will probably be related to contacting local departments to spread the word and garner support

2. See what help Occupy Wall Street needs in New York. Right now there is a need for blankets, clothes, and food. This is the directions they provide on the website:

The UPS Store

Money orders only please, cannot cash checks yet. Non-perishable goods only. We can accept packages of any size. We're currently low on food.

3. SPEND WISELY. In this day and age, your dollar may be worth more than your vote. So know where the products you buy came from and be careful from where you buy. If at all possible, try as much as you can to buy local. Corporate control is the cause of a great deal of problems and is a big reason that we even have to have a movement today. So try your best not to continue feeding them with your money.

4. Get your money out of big banks and into local banks and small credit unions.

5. Come up with your own plan, and communicate and bounce it off of others. We are all smart enough to do something of our own initiative, we just need to do it. And other people can help us make it even better.

Best of luck.
